Podcasts are a fantastic way to keep up with what’s going on in the world without having to actually sit and read. I find my favourite places to listen to podcasts are travelling, in the gym or even just laid in bed chilling out. I’ve recently been listening to The Ersties Podcast.

The Ersties Podcast is created by female adult content creators, film makers, porn producers and models. The regular team of 4 are joined by special guests to discuss subjects relating to all areas of sex and the adult community.

Who are The Ersties Podcasters?

The Ersties Podcasters are feminist pornographer Paulita Pappel, performer, model and occasional writer Lina Bembe, erotic fantasy writer Olivia and “All round sassy lady” Pandora. It’s refreshing to see an all-woman team tackling tricky sexual issues head on. The Ersties team offers a varied but responsible approach to the subjects covered. Whilst still injecting individual experiences into the dialogue.

Launched in late 2017, The Ersties Podcast is based in Berlin and linked to the Ersties.com porn site. If you’ve missed this amazing site it’s basically the same ethos as the podcast, a female team of students, film makers and producers creating realistic porn. Ersties prides itself on its authenticity and this strongly comes across in the content they produce.

We aim to create a different kind of porn, full of passion, fun and beauty – the way we think it should be! We believe in the natural exhibition of our sexuality; all natural girls in all-natural situations with no scripts, demands or expectations! This relaxed and positive approach to porn is an Ersties trademark; passionate, adventurous and horny people doing what they love to do, it couldn’t be any simpler!

The Ersties Podcast is an extension of their ideas and philosophy, presented as a group of friends having a chat. Typical issues covered by the Ersties Podcast include paying for porn, polyamory, the rise of camming, kink as a lifestyle choice and the government censorship of porn. These are subject close to the heart of many of my friends and colleagues, they’re regularly discussed on my Twitter time line.

I Kink, Therefore I Am

The Ersties Podcast gave me food for thought as well as making me laugh and nod in agreement. Listening to the I Kink Therefore I Am episode I was really interested when the conversation turned to breath play and Paulita mentioned a bad experience with it. I, myself have had issues with this area of kink. Listening to her talking about it and how its still one of her favourite aspects of play made me wonder if perhaps my issues were partner based. Rather than the activity itself.

This episode covers just about every aspect of kink, with the team sharing anecdotal accounts and their own personal opinions. I love the non-judgemental, free flow of the conversation between the podcasters. It reminds me of conversations heard in the break rooms and corridors of Eroticon and my heart swells with that feeling of “finding your people”

The Pitfalls of Sexting

I really enjoyed the discussion about sexting in this episode. I found myself smiling and nodding along. Sexting is something most of us enjoy but there are many pitfalls. When do you know you can trust someone enough to exchange intimate pics with them? Why do we still judge people for sending sexy pics to people they’re involved with? It’s their body, their relationship and their choice. Live and let live people. I loved Paulita’s admission that she keeps her own sexy selfies for her own enjoyment. This is a girl after my own heart.

The Great British Firewall

I particularly enjoyed the two-part focus on the porn censorship issue in the UK. As an adult content creator, myself this is a subject which is very close to my heart. It’s something I’m extremely passionate about.

The first part kicks off with “1984 is here mates”. I think this sums up the feeling in the adult community in general. It feels like losing our freedom and is worrying. Listening to Myles Jackman and Pandora Blake talking about the Digital Economy Act and age verification I felt angry. Expecting people to provide personal information to prove their age is irresponsible and poorly thought out.

Data Protection Nightmares

I had heard a little about MindGeeks potential AV solution but didn’t really have a grasp on the issues surrounding this. I was very interested in hearing this discussed and slightly horrified by the data security issues MindGeek have suffered historically. This is important listening for any adult content creator or indeed anyone who enjoys porn.

The Rise of Camming

As someone who writes for the cam community I was also drawn to The Rise of Camming. This episode echoes lots of the issues I’ve touched on myself in the cam industry. I found myself chuckling at the podcasters excitement at finding a cammer doing Karaoke requests in his show.

Hearing the team discussing the pros and cons of the camming experience as clients raised many questions in my head to explore later. Especially exploring the connection between the cammer and client and how different cammers use different niches to pull in audiences. It shines a light on the cam world in general and gives you an insight into why camming has become one of the most popular forms of adult entertainment.

Must-Listen

I started off listening to just one episode of The Ersties Podcast to write this post and enjoyed it so much I binged most of the other episodes. If you are passionate about sex, kink, sex work and the community in general then this is a must-listen.

There are new episodes of The Ersties Podcast on the first Friday of every month, I’ve subscribed and know I’ll be looking forward to listening. You can also find The Ersties Podcast on Twitter.
