My love of strip lashes is well documented, and I’ve reviewed a few recently for Latex Leather and Lace. The most recent pair I was sent are the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes. These are very different to the other Fever lashes I’ve reviewed for Latex Leather and Lace.
The Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes are as suggested by the name very natural. The flares are extremely short, so if length is what you’re looking for these are not the lash for you.
The flares fall in a distinctive long/short pattern and at the longest point they’re about a centimetre in length. There is a flick to the outer corner, it’s very delicate and gives a slight cat eye look when worn. The flares are smooth, there is no fluffy texture to the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes.
The band is thin and flexible, which is great. Creating a lash crown with the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes is very easy, the band shapes well and this makes fitting the strip easier.
I feel my heart sink a little when I realise the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes are on a transparent band. This is favoured by some people for an extremely natural look as it blends into your natural lash line. I don’t like transparent bands, I find they reflect the light and can make my lash line look light. Which is the exact opposite of what I’m looking for.
The Fever Black Natural Volume lashes are extremely lightweight making them a perfect day to day strip. Included with the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes is a small tube of adhesive. This contains an application stick in the lid. The stick is a right faff to use and I disregard it straight away. If you’re careful you can apply the glue directly to the band.
The glue isn’t great, it will stick but it’s not got fantastic hold and leaves a lot of latex residue on your lashes after removal. I prefer to use my own preferred brand. But if you’re not a regular strip user the inclusion of glue is handy as you may not have any.
Easing a thin line of glue over the lash band I wait approximately 40 seconds for the glue to become tacky, the drier the glue the easier the application.
Applying the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes is easy. The flares aren’t big enough to obscure your vision when applying. The transparent band is a bit fiddly but if you drop the band over your outer lashes its easy to smooth them into place.
I usually use the flares to push the band against my lid, but the flares were so short on the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes this wasn’t possible. Instead I used the end of a make up brush to gently press the band down and in place.
Once in place the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes are very natural looking. To me it looked as though I’d slicked some volume mascara over my own lashes. Because they don’t really add much in the way of length they seem to be better for adding definition.
For me they are far too natural, even for a day lash. There isn’t enough volume or fluff to them, I prefer a very full on lash look. Given that they are called “Natural Volume” I was expecting a little more oomph than they gave if I’m honest. I felt a little naked.
However, for someone new to strips or possibly looking for a very basic look for the office for example the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes would be perfect. They blend in with your own lashes beautifully with a slick of mascara and could easily be mistaken for your own.
The Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes are very light when worn, in fact it’s easy to forget you’re wearing them. They don’t tire my eyes like some of my more extravagant pairs of strips. They’d be perfect for prolonged wear.
Caring for Your Lashes
Removing the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes requires a delicate touch. The clear band is very fine, I soaked a cotton bud into some oil free make up remover and gently worked the ends of the band and from above. This gradually loosened the band without damaging it.
Because the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes are so fine and lightweight they will need to be stored on the original card they came in to keep them looking fresh for the next wear.
I wouldn’t wear the Fever Black Natural Volume Strip Lashes, but this is very much down to my personal preference of style. They are good for a natural look, unfortunately I’m just not into that lol. If you’re looking for a starter strip then this is a good choice, I’d personally prefer them to have a black band on them.
Thank you to the fabulous people at Latex Leather and Lace for sending me the Fever Black Natural Volume Lashes for review. I was sent this item free of charge and in exchange for an honest and impartial review.
