Sparkly butt plugs make my day better. There is no doubt about it, a pretty jewel glinting away between your cheeks makes you feel special. So the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug from MEO had me cooing in delight.

Arriving in its own little black velvet pouch for safe keeping the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug is very much a traditional shaped plug. A tear drop shaped bulb tapers to a precise pointed tip for easy insertion.

The neck of the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug is long and narrow and I’m happy about this. I’ve found especially on metal and glass plugs a long neck contributes to a more comfortable wear. The neck allows the plug to move with you. I’ve found plugs with short necks pinch occasionally as you move around.

Its All About The Base

At the end of the neck of the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug sits a nice wide metal base. The edges of the base are very thin. This did mean I felt the sides cutting into my generously sized behind a bit during wear. This can be an issue with princess plugs as they’re often made of metal.

The very first thing you should look at when considering an anal toy purchase is the base. Anal toys need a nice flared base on them to prevent them from travelling inside us during play. The anal passage isn’t like the vagina. It goes up into our body and retrieval of lost objects often needs to be done by a medical professional. Nothing kills sexy time like a visit to A&E so make sure your anal toys and plugs have a nice wide base on them.

Petite Dimensions

The Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug has a base of 1.25 inches across. This is small but in line with the petite size of the plug. The entire length of the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug is just 3 inches with a bulb circumference of 3.5 inches at the widest point.

The bulb itself is just 2 inches in length, making this a perfect size for beginners to metal princess plugs. Or those intimidated by more intense anal penetration. Embedded in the base is the prettiest Amethyst purple colour jewel.

The multi-faceted stone reflects beautifully, throwing out fiery purple bursts as the light hits it. My personal rule of thumb for plug bases is they should be the widest part of the toy. Despite the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug base being on the small side it is the widest part, so I’m happy with that.

Aluminium Surface

The Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug is made of aluminium. This is great news as it means its body safe and totally non-porous. Metal toys are great for anal play as they don’t absorb bacteria and are easy to clean. One thing I always suggest to people new to metal anal toys is be careful about size. Toys feel bigger in the arse than in the hand. You might think a small plug won’t be worth it, but it will feel different once inside you.

Metal plugs have no give to them. There’s no yield to the surface. This means they feel very intense inside you, often stretching you to some degree. Unlike silicone there is also a weight to them to consider. Aluminium plugs are lighter than stainless steel ones and the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug surprises me with how light it is.

Luxe Look

The surface of the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug is very reflective, shiny and almost mirror-like. It looks quite high end (I often find this with metal toys) and luxe. One of the nice things about princess plugs is they double as kinky jewellery.

Because its made of aluminium you can use any type of lube with the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug. But I do recommend you use some lube. As I said before metal has no yield and lube aids insertion so much.

I was keen to try the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug out. It really is pretty, and I felt like the petite little plug would make a perfect starter plug for someone looking for a metal princess plug. I used a little water-based lube for insertion. Protip; wipe your hands off after applying the lube to the plug and yourself. Lubed up hands are not happy bed fellows with metal toys.

Freedom of Movement

Inserting the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug was a breeze, but I’m very mindful of the fact I’m used to plugs. If you’re not, take your time and don’t rush. Relax and be gentle. As the little bulb slides home, I feel the slight tug of the plug slotting into place. This can be a little worrying if you’re a first-time user, it’s perfectly normal.

The Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug is very comfortable inside me. The small bulb isn’t intense in sensation, but I still know I’m wearing it. There is little weight or stretch to wearing it and the narrow neck allows me to move with freedom.

Thanks to its smaller size and lack of weight the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug is a perfect plug for prolonged wear. It doesn’t leave me aching even after a few hours. However, the base does indeed cut into my cheeks a little and this starts to become sore after a while.

During sex the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug makes the experience tighter for all parties. The bulb narrows the vagina making PiV sex feel more intense for both of you. Plus, you have the pretty aesthetic of the jewel glinting between your cheeks.

In Summary

I like the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug. I do think in the small size it’s not a plug for experienced players but a great place to start for those looking to explore anal play more. MEO sell the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug in three sizes. Small, medium and large. Perhaps one of the larger sizes is a better option for someone more experienced with plugs.

You can buy the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug in small for €19.00, medium for €24.90 and large for €29.00.

Thank you so much to the fab team at MEO for sending me the Anal Jewel Silver Star Amethyst Plug for review. I was sent this item free of charge and in exchange for an honest and impartial review.
